Mission Statement

Provide a healthy, loving, and learning environment during a child's most formative years. Continually work toward providing the amenities of a large preschool and afterschool center without losing the close-knit, one-to-one environment of a small, in-home preschool, daycare, and afterschool provider.

History

Nearly three decades ago, in 1995, Crystal Thorpe opened Crystal Care Daycare so that she could spend more time with her two young daughters. Now, Crystal's girls are adults, and she still adores creating a loving, safe environment for youngsters so parents can feel at peace while at work.

Training, Certifications, Professional Development, and More

• Certified in early childhood education specializing in family childcare
• Completes at least 20 hours of training every year in various topics related to child care and early childhood education. We'd be happy to tell you more about the classes we’ve completed; please ask.
• Crystal is on the board of her local daycare association.
• Accredited with the National Association of Family Childcare (NAFCC)
• Experience Early Learning curriculum (formerly Mother Goose Time), a research-based early learning curriculum in which children learn important skills through play
• Early Achievers rating program participant

Parent/Provider Communication

To provide the best possible care for your child(ren), we encourage our parents to communicate with us regularly about their child's progress and development. We welcome calls after preschool/daycare hours to discuss questions or concerns. We aim to work as a team with you for your child's benefit.

Licenses and Insurance

Crystal Care Daycare is a fully licensed childcare for up to six children. We are geared to support children from birth to age eleven. We carry liability insurance through Taylor-Thomason Insurance Company.

We do not discriminate in enrollment, hiring, or in the care of children for any reason including race, color, creed, ethnicity, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, socio-economic status, religion, differing physical or mental abilities, communication styles, or learning styles.

Religious Activities

We observe religious holidays, including Christmas, Easter, etc. During these holiday periods, we may engage in activities such as singing Christmas carols, making decorations, coloring eggs, etc. If there are activities you would like to suggest, please let us know.

Pets

Our two small dogs, Charlie and Bailey, hang around the preschool/daycare. They are most active when people come and go. They are in good health and current with all their shots.
